If you've read some of my previous posts, you would be aware of my desire to travel light. I'm preparing to leave Sydney with just an overnight bag for a four-month holiday in India. In preparation, I haven't shopped much these past six months. Instead, I chose to spend my money on experiences and people. New shoes were replaced by cool things to see, mini adventures and exotic places. Time spent with people doing crazy things was better than cash spent on new clothes. No fashionable accessories, but plenty of 'wine-time' with my flatmate, candle-lit dinners with friends and late night conversations with cabbies on the way back from dancing.
Consumerism isn't so bad. I'll take a wealth of experiences and shared memories with good friends over a cluttered wardrobe.
