The Desire to do Something Other Than the Most Urgent Task

My assessments are due in three weeks. All of them. Monstrous! They're not difficult or stressful, but life is already packed and squeezing in extra hours of thoughtful research, reading and writing conclusive arguments seems arduous.

On the flip side, I may have just discovered the solution to my writing block. Almost every time I sit down to cross out an assessment from my to-do-list, I have a strong urge to blog. About something completely unrelated. It's almost like a trigger to my creative side. My imagination runs amok at the slightest threat of disciplined, diligent academic work. At least it's not technical Engineering stuff this time. It's a lot more interesting. In fact, I have room to be creative in my assignments. The result may make my tutors smile. Maybe that's my imagination too.
