Every good and successful holiday ends with a promise, a resolve to plan the next break. A trek in the Himalayas may not be every man's ideal of a relaxing break, but it fits mine. It helped that the latter part of my trip was cushioned by a few days of luxury in Darjeeling and Delhi.
For days, my friends and I trekked in the rain through remote villages, following the old silk route, close to the border of foreign nations. We experienced different cultures, spoiled with exotic foods, all the time marvelling at the magnificence of the mountains.
This trip is no different to all the other good and successful holidays. It has fuelled my enthusiasm to travel some more, never stop enjoying the rich diversity of other cultures.

My friend showing pictures of his wife and kids to a family who invited us home for a cup of tea, respite from the pouring rain.
A forest close to the border of Bhutan... a kilometre from a watering hole for bears and leopards. That's where I'm headed ;)
