Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. - Philippians 3:13-14 (NKJV)
A new year, a fresh start. Have you let go of the past year - all the pain, hurt, losses, forgettable memories? What have you decided to do differently this year? If something didn't work out last year, how can that change this year? It's important to approach this year with a renewed confidence - in you.
Sometimes, it's easier to forgive others than to forgive ourselves. The greatest burden is the guilt we carry from our mistakes - can we ever get it right? That's a universal statement, we all deal with the frustration of our limitations. As Christ followers, we have the assurance that God loves us and has already forgiven us. That forgiveness forges a way for a deeper relationship. If God, our Maker forgives us without hesitation, who are we to not forgive ourselves?
