Influence Your Environment

"Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine."
-- Anthony J. D'Angelo

I met a woman and her husband in Sydney, at the gym on a Saturday evening. They were bright and bubbly, almost too happy. The lady enquired about my studies at a Bible college and then walked into the brightly lit weights area. "She's supposed to be happy after the workout," I thought to myself. Apparently, her endorphin levels were already quite high.

The next morning, the lady returned with her husband, surprised to see me at work again, on a Sunday. "Pastor Jeremy," she said, "Shouldn't you be at church?" For a couple in their late 50s, these two people carried themselves with such energy, it shifted the mood of the gym. They were thermostats, not thermometers. Instead of being influenced by the mood around them, they influenced and lifted spirits. Such people are rare. They make it a habit to constantly focus on good outcomes, never letting down their guard against negative or anxious thoughts.
