Three simple ways to equip and empower a person:
- Encourage. Speak life. Even when a person makes a mistake. Especially when a person makes a mistake.
- Be positive. Even in outrageous circumstances. There's enough negativity around us to add our voice to the hill of despair. Your positive attitude could well be a lifeline for someone struggling to see the silver lining on a cloud.
- Create opportunities. This gets personal and risky. It involves you creating opportunities for yourself first. Eight years ago, a friend of mine coaxed me in to going salsa dancing with her. I would never have imagined how that little adventure would create opportunities for me to teach salsa. But, it doesn't stop there, I create opportunities for others to teach and express their talent. It starts with me exploring to seek a fuller expression to life.
One of my goals is to live a life that equips and empowers people. It could be as simple as helping someone get a job, teaching a few dance moves, speaking words of encouraging or simply believing in a person's potential and verbalising that belief.
