Disconcerting

The fresh spate of bombs in Sri Lanka (click here to read the article), is an indication that things are never what they seem on the surface. I had numerous people asking if it was wise to visit Colombo on my previous trip to Sri Lanka. Oh, yeah! The only sign of civil unrest was the remnant of military forces scattered around the city. There was a huge parapet next to the hotel; soldiers monitoring the ocean with automatic rifles.


My friend is getting married in Colombo in a month. I can't wait to go back.
