Nod your head if you agree that traffic these days is out of control. Forget crowded roads, I'm talking about crazy drivers with no sense of traffic flow; impatient, rude people who treat their steering wheel like joysticks in a game parlour. I didn't mind it so much until a few weeks ago - it's reached a new low, fuelled by the construction craze that's changing the city I know.
This will resonate with you, my reader. See, we bloggers are an intelligent lot. We see reason, we write against apathy and weild swift words of justice. A lion is king of his jungle and a tiger master of his zoo pen... old Chinese proverb I just made up ;)
I'm going to abide by a code on the road - etiquette and patience. As far as humanly possible, I shall:
- Refrain to blow my horn unless absolutely required
- Maintain a safe distance between my car and the vehicle ahead of me
- Always indicate
- Give way to impatient people, it's not worth playing retribution games on the road
- Stop at zebra crossings to allow pedestrians to cross the road
- Never skip a red light, even if everybody else is doing it
- Change lanes only after indicating and checking my rear-view mirror and the blind spot
- Ensure the pollution levels are checked frequently (don't even get me started on climate change!)
- Leave early so I have enough time to get to my destination
