Corporate Guilt - The feeling of anxiety that follows a period of unproductivity at one's workplace, usually reaching peak levels a few days before pay-day.
The real meaning of this term is something entirely different, but play along with my mind trip. A friend recently mentioned how he had been slack at work (no fault of his) and that he felt he had to earn the money being paid into his account. His employer was paying him good money but not keeping him fully occupied.Corporate Guilt sets in, my friend goes into must find work quickly, act busy, make look like I'm occupied for boss mode. So he gets off his enthusiastic, two cent tush for two days, starts feeling satisfied with his efforts and the next day... his boss sends him off to some remote jungle to chase a story on nasty terrorists!
If you want the real deal on coroprate guilt, read Celia Wells' Corporations and Criminal Responsibilities.
Personally, I would much rather have one of those Rs. 99 flights to... anywhere!
