Cheap Thrills? Part II

I could sit in my office all day and write about the needs of the masses out there. I wanted to prove to myself that I'm not just a man of words, but action. So I went back to AG on Saturday night and parked at Church. I just wanted to have a chat with the prostitutes (read my previous blog), maybe figure out what drives them (kinda obvious, really). I figured the least I could do is invite them to Youth Alive on Saturday night, for a free meal (sounds preposterous, but I couldn't come up with anything else!).
It was late in the evening, darkness had already set in, shadows providing cover for shady deals. The show at the adult theatre had just ended and throngs of men were pouring out. It makes business sense - effeminate male prostitutes, attempting to seduce desperate men who just stepped out of an R-rated movie! Its all about location, huh???
I walked up to the first guy - he wouldn't talk, just kept beckoning me to follow him into the shadows and the playground behind. So I ignored him and walked further down - three more guys, they wouldn't talk either, just wanted me to follow them! It was impossible to talk to them. Then I saw him...
The pimp - blimey! How stupid of me. I just forgot the main player in any prostitution racket. He was observing me from a distance. Talking to these prostitutes was out of the question, inviting them to Church - errr... I had to worry about my safety first - the pimp just looked nasty! So I kept walking down the road.
I just saw the whole thing differently in my mind. It was slightly scary - 15 male prostitutes and their pimp. But I still believe that everyone needs a chance, a break...
