Love And Accents

    I fell in love with an accent on a train ride in Melbourne. Two women with kids in tow rapidly conversed in an exotic language leaving me hanging on every non-intelligible word. I remembered parts of the structure of language, intonation and the sound of the accent. Later, I found out they were Finnish. Not an accent which rates highly in the list of sexiest languages (yes, such a list exists - Irish tops the list).

    What is our obsession with certain sounds and why are we fascinated by the sound of certain voices? I wonder if the Indian accent will ever be on the top ten list...
