Mental Floss

I paid my dues to a dentist after nearly three years of knowing that my teeth needed attention. I had lots of time to think as he drilled my teeth and filled them with some sort of composite material. "There's a little decay," he said, "I'll drill it out first and then give you a filling."
We allow our minds to decay too. Silly, unchecked thoughts lodge in the cavities of our neural pathways, building up until one day, we suddenly realise the pain they cause. In the long run, if they're not checked, drilled out and filled with good substitutes, we're in for major surgeries and heaps of pain.

The dentist disrupted my train of thought. "Now, all you have to do is take good care of your teeth, make sure you floss daily." The Bible talks about taking every thought captive. It's essential for our mental health - think good thoughts. Floss out the bad ones, daily. Healthy thought patterns are a habit. Start practicing now and combat every negative, unhealthy thought with positive, excellent thinking.
