Tuning Upright Pianos

My flat mate acquired an old upright piano. It looks quaint, but sounds like a cacaphonous assembly of wild geese. I've taken on the role of official piano restorer, a challenge that will involve as much research as hours of detailed work. I figured youtube would be a good place to start, and I was right. Having watched at least ten videos, a mental list of criteria is slowly forming in my head. I have decided not to watch videos with:
  • Men who drink cheap beer and put their kids to bed while recording instructions on tuning a piano.
  • Cats. Especially if they're allowed to jump on to the keys.
  • Guys who talk more than demonstrating tuning skills. Worse if they have an Eastern European accent.
