Putting Names Together

Names have significance. I believed this after learning the origin and the strange circumstances under which I was named.

Jeremy: (Hebrew) Appointed by God.

Brian: (Gaelic) The meaning of the name is "hillman". It started out as a first name before being used as a surname. The first recorded spelling of the family name is believed to be that of Ralph Brien. This was dated 1160, during the reign of King Henry 11 of England. He was known as "The Builder of Churches".

On second thought, attaching significance to names is like wearing blinders. They are to be treated as a starting point. You are so much more than your name.
