The Mark Of A Man

Is not in his status or standing in society
Not the perks of his job or the rims on his wheels
Nor the physical attributes we have come to associate with a 'fine man'

No, the mark of a man is not just his service to others,
His gentleness or goodness
Though those are worthy attributes

The mark of a man is:
Failing and yet continuing to strive
In life and love
Not hesitating to live or love more
Instead of pulling back from fear of hurting or being hurt
To not let things take hold of him
But instead holding on to the things that will guide him through life
Family, friends and God
