Over the past five days, I've had a few calls from previous employers. Like ex-lovers trying to win back a lost charm, enticing me with tempting job offers. There was a call from a prospective new employer, one of the major news papers - an offer to relocate to Delhi and write about fashion and films. It's an offer that would have been difficult to resist two months ago. Not anymore. My mind's made up and I'm working to a plan.
I don't think I'll go back to working in a corporate job anytime soon. I'm really enjoying my current set of jobs. Life is brilliant this way. You'll never hear me complaining about going to work. In fact, it's the opposite. Sure, it won't look great on a resume, but my life has never been about what looks good on paper. I'm all about the experiences - people, watching the ocean, outdoor parks, live music, hiking, dancing, exploring, great coffee, good conversation, riding bicycles, lying on the grass, reading a book, carnivals and rides, sports, food, chocolate, creative arts, friends. I've had a good dose of most of that this past week and it's been fantastic.
Right now, I'm checking out Hi5 music videos on YouTube for ideas on what to teach my class of toddlers at dance class. Teaching a bunch of adults how to dance is a piece of cake (you may snicker, but trust me on this one). Controlling a class of 3-5 year old brats, just out of nap-time: challenging! Two hours a week, which is all I can handle dancing with kids, is enough to question how pre-school teachers retain their sanity.
