This Saturday, a bunch of us are planning to visit a hospital, toys and some other stuff in tow. After some research, I found out that the patients at NIMS, in the particular ward I visited, will receive full Government funding for the surgery. It's the post-op that will cost them a bomb.
There are other hospitals, like Niloufer, where patients are turned away because neither the hospital nor the patient's family can afford treatment. Some of the doctors at NIMS talked about a few other diseases (Lupus and haemophilia), which don't have Government funding and the patients require financial assistance.
Tomorrow, I plan to talk to the doctors at Niloufer Hospital. If we can help one particular child, with a curable ailment, who would be otherwise refused treatment, these trips to hospitals will be worth it for me. The plan for Saturday is now to visit a children's ward at the Niloufer (Red Hills). I'll see if I can stick up a map with more details. Thank you - all those who said they're gonna be there on Saturday morning.
Keep you posted.
