Karl Marx apparently learnt an important life lesson - that theory which loses contact with reality becomes impotent.
He goes on to say, "...we do not confront the world in a doctrinaire way with a new principle: Here is the truth, kneel down before it! We develop new principles for the world out of the world’s own principles. We do not say to the world: Cease your struggles, they are foolish; we will give you the true slogan of struggle. We merely show the world what it is really fighting for, and consciousness is something that it has to acquire, even if it does not want to."
I write to encourage people to think - you draw your own conclusions, rather than piggyback on mine. Ofcourse, we allow ourselves to be influenced by what we read and it naturally follows that reading encourages thinking. So maybe I should encourage people to read more. I think its safe to say that if you're reading this, you're a voracious reader, given the lack of real gossip on my blog. It didn't start out that way...
