In the mood

I'm spewing out posts at a furious rate tonight. Just watched a Hindi movie - Rang De Basanti. A very thought-provoking movie and for once, I really, really enjoyed a Hindi film.
Akshata (Hey!) asked me this question once - "What's the difference between a rebel and a freedom fighter"??? My answer was more logical and quite feeble. We were discussing the life of Che Guevara.
Ponder a second: history is riddled with the murder of good guys, fighting a good cause. Worldly authority hates challenges and will resort to heinous crimes to quell it. Does that mean we just give up and live with it??? If you believe in something and want to change it for the better - start straight away. I always whinge about how this country sucks, but I'm making an effort to do my bit. I started with the kids of my watchman, the office boys at work, the parking lot attendant.

As I observe the new generation Indians, my heart fills with pride. Sure - they have their own shortcomings, but there's more compassion and less hypocrisy. Movies like this one draw the common factor between past, present and future generations - in the midst of greed and corruption, a deeper set of values, fighting for truth.
